As you head east along the coast towards the McDonald Ice Rumples you pass a series of other Creeks. Each of these have formed in the Rumples and split open as the shelf has slowly drifted westward. These natural ramps allow access to the shelf above and are one of the main reasons why Halley is located where it is.
