Seeing the base from the air really puts into perspective how insignificant it is on such a huge ice shelf, and just how alone we are! The triangular formation to the left are the Piggott, Simpson and Laws platforms and the two specks in the centre are the Drewery and Garage. Other features include the container line, winter and summer cargo lines, tunnel shafts, bulk fuel tanks and the skiway. In the distance you can see the sea beyond the edge of the shelf.
