Antarctic Camping 5: Shuddering Steam

That's it for the Antarctic Camping posts now, although I'll finish off with a strange phenomena that I came across while we were out there. When it was blowing a gale, gusts of wind were continually pulling and pushing on the inner tent liner. If you had a cup of tea the steam would rise from it as normal but it would also jump suddenly from side to side in time with the movement of the tent liner. What I found strange was the way that the swirling steam wasn't in the least bit disrupted by these sudden sideward motions, I would have expected it to be dispersed much more than it did.

I managed to take this video (5.3MB Quicktime movie):

Movie of steam shaking in a tent.
