Whats new?

My sister Alice has been berating me for never writing anything here. She's got a point, now the winter is in full swing I'm definitely finding it harder to get round to posting stuff. I suppose partly it's because life here seems a lot more routine to me now so most of what I do doesn't feel worth telling. It's also hard to get motivated as it's not always obvious that anyone is even reading them.

So for a change it's time for a bit of audience participation: As many of you know the summer down here only lasts six weeks and that's the only time when we can get new supplies in for the base as we're cut off the rest of the year by the sea ice. That means that anything I want for my second year down here has to come in by ship. Our families have been asked to put together the parcel for us, which can weigh up to 20kg.

So the question is, what's new in the UK since the end of November 2003 that I should ask for? In particular I'm thinking about books, DVDs and music but any suggestions are welcome as long as they are in the shops now or will be in the next few weeks. Comedy TV series are particularly popular down here, as are films.

If you've got any ideas drop me a line, either by email if you've got my address or by filling in the Contact form.
