More pictures at last
Sorry there haven't been any pictures for quite a while - I've been having a few technical problems with that part of the site. It's all fixed now though (thanks to Alice and Dan) so there are a couple of new galleries from a while ago. Firstly some pictures of some of the weird optical phenomena we saw before the sun disappeared and secondly some of the people down here and what we've been getting up to. There are also some pictures from my winter trip waiting to go up so I'll add them soon too.
Life down here is going well. It's been getting increasingly dark since the Sun set at the beginning of May - the picture below shows what it was like at lunchtime yesterday. I'm not really finding it too hard getting used to the darkness and cold and we've got plenty to do to keep us occupied. In less than three weeks it will be mid-winter and after that the light will start to return again.
For a different perspective of life here and lots more pictures of some of the things we've been getting up to lately, take a look at the Halley Station Diary for May on the BAS website (it should appear in the next couple of days).
